On September 17, 2026, the 4th CATA Aviation Conference opened at the China National Convention Center in Beijing. ZDH attended at the organizers' invitation. Zhang Zhong, Vice President of ZDH, gave a keynote speech, and the company set up a booth to showcase its independently developed Global Aeronautical Chart.
Keynote: Exploring On-Device AI Voice Technology in the Smart Cockpit
During the conference, Zhang Zhong gave a keynote titled Exploring and Applying On-Device AI Voice Technology in the Smart Cockpit. He shared how the company has been applying artificial intelligence to cockpit operations and set out three key views.
First, AI in the cockpit should run on the device.
The cockpit has strict requirements for real-time response and data localization. Running core processing on board meets real-time needs and keeps operational data on the aircraft.
Second, the Electronic Flight Bag is a proven on-device platform.
The Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) is already a mature on-device computing platform in the cockpit, and it holds flight-specific data such as charts, flight plans and manuals. With this data, speech recognition can interpret ATC instructions in light of the current flight phase and route, instead of processing audio in isolation.
Third, the direction is to move from "understanding instructions" to "verifying execution."
As a next step, the company plans to connect aircraft connectivity, EFB data and cockpit audio. This will let the system intelligently compare ATC instructions with the pilots' actual actions and give the crew advisory prompts. These functions are designed as a reference aid for the crew. They do not replace standard air-ground communication procedures or crew decision-making.
At the Booth: Global Aeronautical Chart
The company's booth focused on its independently developed Global Aeronautical Chart. Live demonstrations on real devices showed chart viewing and search, integration with flight plans, and hands-on use on the EFB. Together they gave visitors a clear picture of how China-developed charts fit into airlines' daily operations.
Visits from Group Leadership and Customers
During the conference, leaders from China Aviation Supplies Holding Company visited the ZDH booth. They were briefed on the development progress and applications of the Global Aeronautical Chart, and they recognized the company's work on independent software products for civil aviation.
Throughout the exhibition, ZDH's technical staff introduced the products to representatives from airlines, airports and low-altitude economy companies and answered their questions on site. Discussions covered the user experience of the China-developed charts, data updates and operational adaptation.
